My joy of art is all about the journey of myself. For years I’ve kept my secret to make art because in my family my sister was the artist. Thrown out of the art class at school by my teacher also threw me out of being able to create anything, especially painting.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that it was suggested to me that I should try drawing, but being a rebel, due to childhood experiences, this took longer to achieve, but eventually I got a lot nearer to creating art. Our past and the people in them can haunt us for life, subconsciously restricting ourselves and our lives.
Abstract art for me allows me to be free and to give me the self expression that I desire and need. I honestly don’t have the patience to produce detailed work. I need that inner sense of freedom to express my true self and I’m loving it. Others may look at my work and see abstract craziness but I don’t apologise for that, in fact that is just me. Art makes me feel alive and joyous even on the darkest of days.
